Help children with school supplies - critical tools for learning!

Alexandria Child Protective Services has identified 45 families in need (98 children; many of them are families we helped last Christmas).

You can sign up to provide school supplies for the children in one family any time between now and Sunday, August 13, after each service or in the narthex of Zabriskie Chapel during the week. So far, 19 families with 41 children have been "adopted". To provide for one of the large families, several Immanuel families may want to sign up together. If you are interested in partnering but do not find someone to partner with, please email ds@dsoergel.com so we can make a match (we already have one request). Please bring the school supplies to church on or before Sunday, August 20.

You can also contribute money for school supplies through the special collection August 20, or mail/deliver to the parish office anytime up to Aug. 20. Please make checks out to ICOH and mark them XFAM. The money will go to the Haiti Micah project (50%) and to Community Lodgings (25%) and Human Services in Alexandria (25%).

Let us give all children a good start in the new school year!
