Help Shape The Future of Shrine Mont Camps

Churchill "Kirk" Gibson, Director of Development at Shrine Mont, led a lively discussion at the forum hour on June 23 about the developing vision for Shrine Mont's future and how youth camp programs help strengthen and grow the Church.

He pointed out that Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill sends 20-30 campers to Shrine Mont each summer -- an outstanding level of commitment to these programs.  Longtime camper Amanda Eisenhour shared her firsthand experiences and reflections about how participating in Shrine Mont camps enriches the lives and spiritual awareness of young people. An example of how Shrine Mont builds future Church leaders was provided in the very person of Immanuel's guest celebrant, The Reverend Gideon Pollach, who observed that not only was he a product of the camps but also met his future wife when they were counselors there.

Below is the wonderful Shrine Mont video that Kirk shared with us:

Kirk emphasized that right now, it is most important for those who care about Shrine Mont's future to provide their input to the Diocese of Virginia. You can sign up online to receive updates and a survey for your opinions (your address will NOT be used for any other purpose).
