An exciting new Bible Study program for adults of all ages headlines Immanuel Church on the Hill’s Fall 2013 Adult Education offerings.

Bible Study begins with two introductory sessions led by Rev. Frank Wade in the Parish Hall during the Education Hour following the 9:15 a.m. services on Sunday, September 29 and Sunday, October 13.  Bible Study continues with four weeks of small group meetings at times and places to be determined during the weeks of October 20 and 27 and November 3 and 10.

Given the launch of this new offering, we will not hold a School for the Spirit session in the Fall but are seeking a volunteer program coordinator for a six week session to be held in the Spring.

Bibles on Tap, the Bible study program for young adults (20s-30s), will resume at Virginia Theological Seminary’s 1823 Pub at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month beginning on September 11.  The 1823 Pub is a popular location for sating one’s thirst for spiritual education and Christian fellowship.

Early Christians will meet at the VTS 1823 Pub on Tuesday, September 3 and the first Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in addition to their regular weekly meetings each Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. in Immanuel’s Fairchild Room.

The Benedictine Group will meet at the VTS 1823 Pub on Tuesday, September 10 at 7 p.m. and in Immanuel’s Upper Room at 7 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

And for those seeking a more sedate atmosphere for spiritual reflection, Circle of Quiet will meet in the Upper Room after 9:15 a.m. Sunday services beginning September 15.

Additionally, Immanuel will hold its annual Advent Retreat (led this year by the Rev. David Crosby) at Holy Cross Abbey in Berryville, Virginia the weekend of December 6-8.

We will also hold several interesting Forum Hours in the Parish Hall during the Education Hour following 9:15 a.m. Sunday services, including one on Immigration Reform led by Judge Wayne Iskra on November 10.

For additional information on Adult Education programs, please contact Vestry Growth & Education Steward Tony Christino (athome1500@comcast.net) or the Rev. David Crosby (dcrosby@icoh.net).  And of course, watch this space on Immanuel’s website, www.icoh.net!
