Jan 19 Confirmation, Reception, and Celebration of New Ministry

1/16/2014

Please join us when Bishop Shannon Johnston celebrates our 11th Rector's new ministry with us, as well as confirms or receives 16 parishioners. It will be a joyous occasion for the Alexander family and the families of the confirmands, and it is our annual opportunity to visit with our Bishop.

The service begins at 2 p.m. at Callaway Chapel on the grounds of Episcopal High School.

Gilma and Eneida Balcarcel will provide nursery care to little ones in Blackford Hall, directly across the quad from the chapel. Please ask ushers to point out the building.

There is a festive reception planned immediately following at the Virginia Theological Seminary's refectory (next door to the 1823 Pub). Everyone, young and old, is welcomed.

ABOUT PARKING:

Those attending the vent can park at Episcopal High School 9EHS) or Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS). Callaway Chapel is close to the school's and seminary's property line, and the pedestrian-only gates will be opened between the two campuses. The chapel is building #7 on this map.

There is limited parking on the school property — enter through the Braddock Road gate, and observe the parking signs.

There are more parking spots on the VTS campus, so we suggest most parishioners plan to park there. That will also put you closer to the reception site (the Refectory is right next to the 1823 Pub).  You can enter the campus from the new entrance next to the seminary post office on Seminary Road or from the N. Quaker Lane entrance, taking a right on Mission Drive before you reach Aspinwall Circle and continue down Mission to the back of the campus and the gates leading to Episcopal. Here is a map of VTS.

Look for parking behind the library, near the maintenance building and Butterfly House preschool, and near the post office. A sidewalk connects the two campuses through an open gate.
