Learn CPR - Save a Life!

3/4/2014

Anyone can learn CPR, and everyone should: You could save a life!

Sadly 70% of Americans feel helpless to act in a cardiac emergency because they either do not know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed. This alarming statistic could hit close to home, because the majority of cardiac arrests occur in the home. Put simply, the life you might save with CPR is most likely to be someone you love.

Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill's Parish Nursing Committee is continuing to offer free CPR classes (aimed at assisting adults, children and infants in distress) as well as training on our newly-acquired automated external defibrillator (AED). Fourteen parishioners have been trained so far.

You first take a 90-minute interactive online class (interested persons will need an email address in order to log in). Then you will meet with instructors in the parish hall to practice on the equipment and see a demonstration. You receive a two-year certification after the successful completion of the class.

Please contact Lisa Clausen at 703-684-3936 or Lisa.Clausen@verizon.net and let her know of your interest.
